Last night was rough - but today is a new day and it’s Taco Tuesday so I’m going to feel my pain soul with tacos. This weekend also kicks off The Works Art & Design Festival (we can’t wait to see the colourful installation in Churchill Square) and the hard launch of patio brunches and Canada Day Fireworks. Though we’re still pretty bummed, what a run!

Crown the King of the Hill Comedy Champion at Grindstone Theatre.
Pop-up Natural Wine Streetcar. This is another incredible pop-up event by Garneau Block.
Duelling Piano Experience at a classic pub. Come sing your heart out to the classics, and top 40.
Stand-up Stand-off at Grindstone. Each comic gets five minutes to bring their best jokes. One finalist each week will be chosen by the panel of comedy judges, and another will be voted through by the discerning live comedy audience.

Anthem of Life is Edmonton Playwright Tololwa Mollel's adaption of South African Poet Laureate Mazisi Kunene’s Anthem of the Decades: A Zulu Epic(AOTD). Driven by a diverse ensemble of performers from various artistic disciplines, the trilogy will include a fluid mixture of African-style storytelling, Odissi Dance and Odissi-inspired movement; live Hindustani music, choral speech and animation of large-scale Zulu-style God-masks and creatures.
