Pop-ups, Trending Hotspots, Events & Openings/Closings

• TWO Immersive Art Pop-up events are headed our way this weekend. There’s the speakeasy REFINERY party at Art Gallery of Alberta and an immersive Art Is… Sneakerhead edition with Moments by Morrel. It’s a good weekend for art, culture and party aficianados.

• The team from Yelo’d is bringing a little more sweetness to Chinatown in Edmonton this spring with the opening of Little BonBon. Stay tuned, because we’re stoked to see what they have in-store!

• Take a hand-built mug workshop at the Pop-up Clay & Cocktails, upcoming on April 25, 2024. Your tickets include a cocktail, dessert, and a session where you’ll be led by a local expert to create two hand-built mugs. Buy tickets

• Tickets are on sale for the spring and summer cocktail classes on the streetcar and the pop-up streetcar concerts. Find the full schedule, and buy tickets.

Wednesday March 20, 2024

• Join an evening of delicious food, great company and captivating conversations with renowned authors at Guru Kitchen and Bar! Dining with Authors is a spin-off of FRAMS’ popular Dining with Friends events.

• Come cheer on six improv comedians compete for the chance to be crowned King of the Hill. After each round, the audience decides on the winning pair who will stay on for the next round while the losers form new teams to dethrone the Kings.

• Join for an unconventional trio with The Beverage Collective where Don Fulano Tequila's rich notes, artisanal cheeses, and premium cigars command the spotlight. It's an affair for those who appreciate the finer things but prefer their luxury a bit more laid back.

Thursday March 21, 2024

• Get tickets to see Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire on opening weekend, March 21-24th, 2024, and take advantage of Bustin' Twosome Offer at Landmark Cinemas. That's 2 admission tickets, 2 medium fountain drinks, a large popcorn and large candy, for $49.99.

• Try this chopsticks making workshop. Each participant will be using both the planer machine and the hand planer with a special design jig and a sanding block with multiple grits size to create your unique design.

• Bring your A-game to The Rec Room and compete with other couples at popular redemption games in the yard. The couple with the most points at the end of the sixty minutes will take home the grand prize. The monthly gaming tournament is the cheapest date night in Edmonton at $15 per couple.

• Clay and cocktails is coming to Edmonton. A skilled instructors will guide you through the process of slab building the mugs in this workshop with dessert, cocktails and clay.

• The world’s biggest touring illusion show, Champions Of Magic, will be landing at the Festival Place Theatre in Sherwood Park, AB in March and April of 2024 for an extended engagement.

• Watch as the Citadel Theatre performs this classic production Sound of Music. Set in late 1930s Austria, the free-spirited Maria, set to take religious orders at an abbey, becomes a governess in the home of a widowed naval captain with seven children. In her new position, she brings a new love of life and music into the hearts of each of the children and the surly Captain Von Trapp.

• Add some magic to your night with scintillating and hilarious stripteases from Magic Michael XXS. Dancing to songs they don’t know and creating routines based on audience suggestions, a cast of improvisers with no stripping experience will seduce you into stitches in this hysterical male stripper epic.

Saturday March 23, 2024

• A cocktail pop up series in the Bella basement featuring guest bartenders and DJ Spaghetti serving up delicious beats.

• Step into a world where art transcends boundaries and embraces the extraordinary. Moments By Morrel, in collaboration with a talented collective of local artists, presents an extraordinary event: “Art Is…” Sneakerhead Edition.

• It’s bowling for love at Plaza Bowl. Come connect with local singles as you try to strike for love, or like. We’ll rotate through rounds to allow attendees to meet every person in attendance.

• The 11 O’clock Number is Grindstone’s award winning improvised musical comedy! Based on suggestions from the audience the cast improvises a brand new musical comedy on the spot, complete with twisting plots and showstopping numbers.

• There’s a pop up at Blind Enthusiasm with Mai Nguyen, starting at 2pm. Small dishes, her creations, and your favourite beers. Get there early because the dishes are only available while supplies last.
